- From our local news, if you are going to chose a life of crime, maybe reconsider the wisdom of a full face tattoo.
- The Patriots are going to the Super Bowl. While I've always been a fan of football, I am becoming less so as I see more and more studies about the near certainty of serious brain damage to almost all college and pro football players. It's kind of like cheering when someone lights up a cigarette--it won't kill you now but probably will in the future...not good.
- The government is shutdown because those in power appear to be clueless (and leaderless). The best article I've read about it so far is this one. Good on Senator Duckworth.
- And from the I'm too old for this shit file: apparently our kids are supposed to be treated like they are adolescents and not adults until age 24 (somehow my generation was treated like adults at around 15 and we turned out fine). This sort of store gives me the creeps (I'm waiting for the time when the store will weight a person and refuse to sell them junk food if they weight too much...at least it looks like technology and Big Brother are heading that way). It also may take we a while to warm up to the idea of self driving cars.
